Things To Do In Las Vegas

About Las Vegas

what

Las Vegas, an entertainment oasis in Nevada’s Mojave Desert, continues to capture the world’s imagination in this surreal destination where anything is possible.  Beyond the 24 hour excitement and lure of its many casinos and magnificently themed hotels, Las Vegas offers world class dining, shows, night clubs, concerts, shopping, golf and spas.  Here there is something for everybody, whether it’s basking in the desert sun on the vast hotel pool decks, taking in one of the many top performers or Cirque du Soleil shows, riding the LinQ High Roller Wheel (the world’s tallest Ferris wheel at 550 feet, holding 40 people in each cabin) or a visit to Fremont Street, where Las Vegas all began before the development of the Strip in the 1970s. Many of the original casinos, such as Golden Nugget, Main Street Station and El Cortez are still in business in “Old Vegas.” The free Viva Vision light show at the Fremont Street Experience is a must-see in Las Vegas. The Viva Vision canopy is the world’s largest video screen, providing a larger-than-life entertainment experience.

Along with all the manmade amusement, there is fabulous nature too.  Make time to explore the beautiful desert that surrounds Las Vegas by visiting the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, where you can admire colorful rock formations on several hiking trails or a 13 mile scenic drive.  If you are seeking solitude, you can visit Death Valley National Park, located about 1 ½ hours from Las Vegas.  Or you can admire the engineering feat of Hoover Dam, located about 45 minutes from Las Vegas.
